Colorado Rapids have managed to bring in Vicente Sanchez to their ranks. The Uruguay striker is rated as one of the finest players from his country. The 33-year-old will also provide a lot of experience to the team. He has played 31 matches for the national team and has scored five goals in the process. Colorado Rapids have been on an impressive run of form recently. They have been able to go on a seven match unbeaten run that sees them near the top of the table. Even though they have played a game more than the table leaders Real Salt Lake, they are just three points off the top of the table.
Hence, there is a real belief within the team that they can win the title this season and it has been just increased following the arrival of Sanchez. The summer transfer window will be closing shortly and manager Oscar Pareja has revealed that he is happy to welcome the forward into the squad. Sanchez has played in some of the best competitions and leagues. He has featured for the likes of Schalke in the German league, which have also helped him to make appearances in the UEFA Champions League as well.
“Vicente is an experienced, professional player who can help this team both on the field and in the locker room. He has performed at a high level in some of the top leagues in the world, even at his most recent club in Uruguay. We’re happy to welcome him into the group,” said Pareja in a statement after the arrival of the 33-year-old. The striker also has the experience of playing in competitions like the Europa league, Copa Sudamericana, and Copa Libertadores. Deshorn Brown is currently the leading goal scorer in the team with six goals to his name.
